The Estate Raffaella wines bring a bit of refinement and rich, full bodied enjoyment. The Clareta (blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Grenache) and the Century Old Vine Zinfandel provide reassurance that the Lodi Appellation can provide some of the top red wines in California. A surprise find, tucked away within the Jewel offerings, is wines from Sam Whitmore. Sam is an employee of Jewel Winery and is branching out as a winemaker with offerings of Viognier, Syrah, Mourvedre and Barbara. The Whitmore Wine Company is young, fun and exciting. Sam uses a simple label and screw top cap to entice the discerning wine buyer. Discerning or not, Sam has produced a product using organic practices and eco-friendly materials.
