Our latest wine tasting trip to Southern California, Temecula Valley was rewarded with not only an exceptionally clear day, fine wine and friendly servers, but also we discovered a new winery that you need to add to your list. Cougar Vineyard and Winery opened just before Thanksgiving 2006. Because they are new, the winery is not listed on most Temecula Winery maps. You will find them on the quaint, backroad of De Portola. With the opening of Leonesse Cellars a couple years ago and now Cougar Vineyard and Winery, De Portola Road is quickly becoming our road of choice. Owners, Jennifer and Rick Buffington, provide a nice variety of whites, reds, White Cabernet Sauvignon, and on special occasions, a barrel tasting of Zinfandel Port.
